I don’t always get behind the newest trend. If you know me, you know that I am not very trendy. This year I have found out that I was a step ahead of the game and I’m already in with the cool kids. My favorite type of fitness training has come back to sit at the “popular” table again and I get to tag along! Bodyweight training has always been one of my favorite ways to train. Maybe it stems from my love of bootcamp style classes, or the fact that for years I couldn’t afford a gym and had to make due with what I had and always will have: my body. We should all aim to move our bodies better…how do we do that? Move our bodies!
Studies say that the hottest new trend for 2015 is Bodyweight Training. Move over Zumba, Crossfit, HIIT: The old fashion moves are taking over the #1 spot! These are the moves that you may have learned way back in the PE day: Squats, Push Ups, Planks, Pull Ups. It’s coming back into style. The foundations of fitness were based in bodyweight training and now we are bringing it back. It is a great way to increase strength and skills you can use anywhere, take anywhere, do anywhere. I hope with this original trend we can bring back the fanny pack too…right?
Well I am ALL for this 2015 trend. I don’t think it ever should or ever will go out of style. (The training and the fanny packs) What better way to get in shape than use the tool you carry around with you all the time, your own body.
