I took advantage of my pretty new garage gym to record a video blog for you all! I wanted to do a follow up to my blog yesterday about keeping it simple and finding things that you can do at home. So I have demonstrated the:

7 Simple Strength Moves that you can do right now!

  1. Squat

  2. Push Up

  3. Bridge

  4. Deadbug

  5. Lunge w/ a Twist

  6. Plank

  7. Row

These are some of my favorite strength moves from the very beginning. There are tons of ways to improve on these moves and make them more challenging. Check out the video for the explanations.

You can create your own workout from all 7 moves or you can mix and match them. I will give you an example of just a few of the ways you can piece it together

1) Go for time!

    • Perform each move for 30 seconds – 1 minute
    • Repeat 1-4 times
    • Rest when needed

2) Count repetitions!

    • Perform 10-15 repetitions of each move
    • Repeat 2-4 Times
    • Rest when needed

3) Tabata Style

    • Perform one move for 20 seconds
    • Rest for 10 seconds
    • Repeat 4-8 times
    • Continue on to a new move with the same format
    • I suggest only picking 3-4 moves for this format

Try these out or mix and match to make your own at home workout. A very simple way to progress up if you have a few dumbbells lying around is just to add weight. Make sure you are comfortable with the form of each move before adding any additional weight. Most importantly keep it simple, and HAVE FUN!

I’d love to know what you think. Leave me a comment or come hang out and start a discussion on my Facebook page.
